I like the way you've photographed this Pat. The plants in the forground are sharp yet the background is sufficiently in focus to see they go on (and on, lol). It's not just a solitary plant.

And aren't we all sinners? Since the beginning. You don't have to pray to a non breathing diety for salvation. There is only one real living God, and he sent his one and only Son to die for every sin that man has done past and future. No other god or diety has done that, so what is there to lose? Give God a call, he's waiting to hear from you. Great work! rh.

I really like this one. I may be a little biased- red is my FAVORITE color, then blue. :) Wish I could get back the talent of painting. I used to draw, then paint, then worked with clay, then candles, cross stitch and now I believe I'm for jewelry or wire and beads crafts. :) Excellent work.

Beautiful work, Heather. I worked with encaustic for several years and am now working with glass and computer graphic art. I do have some of my encaustics on the site. One thing I found, that was a lot of fun, were the gemtone crayons to mix with my encaustic work. Gives it a metalic sparkle. Really fun. Your work is gorgeous. You got it! I have spent many hours in those waves. I just love the color and movement of crashing waves--whether painting them or riding them.

Hi Katya, I like the approach you have taken with Bella. The purple is an eye catcher. I used to ride English and Dressage until I got thrown and didn't walk for 1 year. Thanks for the memories and the art work! Joy.

It does look for all the world like the head of a fox. Sharp eye and good imagination to stop for this photo!

Lovely photo! I like the softness -- was that with a filter applied? Love the theme of this -- have done some paintings of a similar nature.
Posted on 10/28/2009 at 04:58 PM
Wonderfully strong image! That is a quite an amazing branch, which looks all the world like numerous branches twisted together. Can that be?
Posted on 10/28/2009 at 07:46 PM
Ann, thank you! I'm still trying to find out what kind of tree this is. Yes, the branch is twisted, as if it were the trunk that produced those smaller branches, which in turn wrapped and grew upwards to sunlight. Very strange, indeed. The whole tree is gorgeous, but I have a difficult time getting a shot because of so many people always at the beach.

Congrats on your sale.A beautiful piece. Color and serenity of painting great.
Posted on 10/28/2009 at 04:26 PM
Thanks. Nice trees as well. Try photographing one with lights placed symmetrically to each side facing the tree to eliminate shadows. A white sheet or piece of material draped makes an infinite background. The buyer can see the sculpture better.
Posted on 10/28/2009 at 04:24 PM
This is beautifully done. Her skin looks so real and I love how you did the foliage in the background.
Posted on 10/28/2009 at 04:22 PM
Fabulous shot Scott. The patience paid off on this one. Your other shots are great too. Sean.
Posted on 10/28/2009 at 04:18 PM

Very nice Al. This piece is poetry. Lived just south of the twin cities for years until just a few years ago. Nature and scenic shots can be harvested there without end!

Love the message and the image.

Love this peice Gary, I am a maze artist. Haven't posted any mazes here on FAA, but I have made a few into three dimentional puzzels. Do you have any other peices that are mazes. I looked at a few of the other line drawings but none appeared to be mazes.
Posted on 10/28/2009 at 04:02 PM
Woop , I just noticed that the Van Gough is a maze also. Love your work with lines.
Posted on 10/28/2009 at 06:07 PM
Thanks Morgan, and yes - my Van Gogh line drawing and at least a dozen others are mazes like this one.
Posted on 10/28/2009 at 03:59 PM
Ann, I am a poet and writer as well and have been gifting friends and family with photo poetry for decades now and looking forward to doing same here on FAA ... It all does flow together doesn't it -- the sparkling images in and outside the lens - the emotions nature summons in its own language leading us to make our own song in human tongue! :-) See, you brought the poet out in me! Lovely work throughout your portfolio ...

Posted on 10/28/2009 at 05:01 PM
Thanks Tara! Detail was drillled into me by entomology professors who demanded exacting likenesses of insects for syllabus and insect identification use. Why they didn't just use photos I'll never know . . .

Thank you for the compliment on Diversity. I wanted to send a statement to everyone about how we all have a connection & color doesn't change that. II like Curious Cove there's so much to see in this one. At first I thought I was seeing a Giraffe . .
